Garden Design Courses – 2017

Francoise is an associate lecturer with Bicton College, and teaches a variety of independent garden design courses. Courses are available at different times throughout the year. Courses are held at Dartington on behalf of Bicton, and at Staverton Bridge Nursery.

Current courses are a 20 week part time courses 2017 at Staverton Nursery beginning March 2017:
Explore the 10 principles of design. Learn to use a drawing board and a scale rule. How to measure up a site and produce a client brief. Perform site analysis. Do all this in beautiful surroundings in the company of like-minded people. Courses provide an essential basis in techniques and technical know-how, giving you hands-on experience, and attentive support and guidance.

Courses are in association with Bicton College.

Day and weekend courses also available at a local venue through the autumn

This stimulating and beautiful PowerPoint presentation on the 10 principles of garden design (as featured in the courses) is available to show your gardening group. It introduces key concepts including scale, texture, light and shade, colour, balance, proportion and perspective…

When taken together, the principles provide a new way of seeing gardens, and can bring a new depth of appreciation, understanding and inspiration to the garden enthusiast… a must for local gardening groups and societies.
