With today's technology it's possible to collaborate remotely. Our joint skills enable all aspects of even complex design projects to be taken care of 'in house' . On bigger projects we both travel to the site to ensure a thorough understanding of our clients' needs and the site's characteristics.
Garden Designer - Ashburton, England
I qualified in garden design with Bicton College in Devon in 1998, and Mike Lin in the U.S. a couple of years later. My rôle teaching garden design in the gardens of prestigious grade 1 listed Dartington Hall and working as a garden tour guide means I bring cultural context to the design aesthetic. Implementing my own designs for private clients, working at Hillhouse nursery in Devon, and maintaining and restoring established gardens over 25 years means I bring an in-depth knowledge of plant material impossible to acquire at a desk. I'm excited to work with Mathieu. His technical expertise, and exacting training in Geneva complement my plant knowledge and design experience perfectly! We both share a passion for low impact, bio-diverse gardens that are functional and stylish.
Mathieu Tapponnier - Tapponnier Ltd
Landscape Architect - Edinburgh, Scotland
I graduated from the HES-SO University of Geneva (HEPIA, formerly internationally renowned Lullier School) in 2015 and had a French professional training before in Lyon (BTS in landscaping). After a few years working in environment and landscape architecture offices in Geneva, I moved to Scotland after falling in love with the wild landcapes here, and Edinburgh's inspired architecture.
