Garden design

The design documents

Your garden project will be created in 4 essential steps. Each step completes and enriches the process, as the garden narrative unfolds. This formula also allows us to adapt to your budget and your needs at each stage.
Design Documents are a substantial asset for deveoping a garden that has character, and which tells the story of your garden journey.

Step 1. Presentation, Analysis and Concept

Up to 5 days after the CLIENT BRIEF we provide a plan of the existing garden and the first page of the project. All this in the form of a printed and bound A4 folder, presented to you face to face and explained orally by us. A PDF copy of the project and other digital files of your garden are also provided.

The first step descriptively outlines the concept, analysis plan, and visualises these themes through concept Mood Boards. From this concept the garden acquires its identity.

sTEP 2. Detailed Masterplan to scale

The second STEP is a plan of your project, drawn to scale and representing all the elements defined and validated in the analysis and concept. This plan develops the concepts, and brings the project to life. This step is presented to you face to face and explained orally by us. You will be provided detailed digital scale plans.

Step 3. The Planting Scheme

The planting plan defines and enriches the project, and integrates harmoniously with the other elements. Each plant is presented on a to-scale planting scheme, which allows landscapers to implement the garden and guarantees you obtain the best result. Planting normally includes specimen or focal point plants which are chosen for their architectural shape, and they may be spotlighted. Other planting types include screening, hedges, trees, shrubs, grasses and herbaceous perennials, which are cut back in winter and return annually. We adapt planting plans according to your maintenance needs and the overall look you wish to achieve.

Step 4. Ambiance

The final step unifies the project, giving it a signature style. Chosen materials and furniture are detailed, and a night-time lighting plan will show the look and feel of the garden at night, with technical specifications. A 3D artistic view represents the soul of the garden and rounds off your project.
